First Baptist Church of Andover Ohio

Pastor Brian was born in 1966 in Erie, Pennsylvania.  The Ewig family soon moved to Conneaut, Ohio, where Brian grew up and attended local schools.  Brian was brought up by Christian parents and gave his life over to Jesus Christ as a mere teen.  For many years, Brian’s family attended The United Church of Beaver Center, Pennsylvania.  Brian spent several formative years at the United Church and was baptized there.  After finishing high school, Brian went on to graduate from Bluffton college with a major in English and Communications.  In time, God brought Brian to The First Baptist Church Of Conneaut, where he served as interim pastor from 2013 – 2015.  There, Brian honed his preaching skills.  And the church in Conneaut sponsored him to attend a three-year program furthering those talents.  Brian has worked as a reporter for a number of regional newspapers helping him gain an expert command of the English language. He also worked as a substitute K-12 teacher.  When our church found itself without a pastoral leader, Brian shared weekly preaching duties with another local “servant of the Lord”.  Eventually, Brian was asked to become the full-time pastor of The First Baptist Church of Andover.  Pastor Brian’s hopes are to further God’s kingdom by increasing our congregational numbers through the promotion of evangelical ministries and programs.  March of 2024 marked three years that Pastor Brian has been at our church.  We are blessed by his leadership, and pray he remains with the church for many years to come!

Our church Worship Leader Brian Hall has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Andover for many years.  Both he and our pianist Tina Miller grew up up together and joined the church as very young people in the '70's, Brian has become an integral part of the church body. Brian leads the Sunday morning adult Sunday school group and also assists Pastor Ewig during regular Sunday service.  Brian is a forty year veteran of marriage, with children and grandchildren.

Our church pianist Tina Miller has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Andover for many years.  Both she and Worship Leader Brian Hall grew up up together and joined the church as very young people in the '70's, Tina is definitely another significant part of the church body.  Her musical talents underscore the "joyful noise" we make during Sunday worship.  Tina is married, and has three Stepchildren and four grandchildren. And loves kitty cats!
